Tammy K. Claeys, 49, of Oketo, KS, died Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the KU Medical Center in the presence of many family and friends.. Visitation was Wednesday, October 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 15, at St.Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Rosemary Forst played the organ while the church choir sang “Be Not Afraid”, “Open My Eyes”, “On Eagles Wings”, “You Are Mine”, and “I Have Loved You”. The pallbearers were Matt Claeys, Chris Claeys, Steve Vering, Scott Zabokrtsky, John Zabokrtsky, and David Jueneman. The honorary pallbearers were Ted Nemec, Jeff Scott, Steve Moser, Mike Voet, Sheldon Voet, and Dean Koerperich. Burial was in the church cemetery. Tammy was born Aug. 1, 1966, at Marysville, KS, to Jim and Sherry (Shanek) Zabokrtsky. In 1984, she graduated from Marysville High School. On October 3, 1987 she was married David Claeys. She liked playing cards, reading, going to movies, and enjoyed traveling. She was kind to everyone and was always smiling. She put others first. Tammy worked at Ar Ex drug store, Valley Vet, WalMart for 25 years, and was a Pharmacy Tech. Survivors include her husband, David; and children, Ryan, Kelsey, Dustin, and Maggie, all of Oketo; parents, Jim and Sherry Zabokrtsky, Marysville, and brother, Jim Zabokrtsky, Beatrice, NE.
