Menno J. Lienemann, 89, of Marysville, KS, died March 19, 2016 at Community Memorial Healthcare. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23 from noon to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 24, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Menno was born at Oketo to Frerrick and Altje (Janssen) Lienemann on October 8, 1926. He graduated high school from Liberty, NE in 1944. On September 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Lemke. Menno was a lifelong farmer and farmed until he retired at 80. He served as a director for the Blue-Valley Tele-Communications Board of Directors from 1962 to 2000. He held the offices of President from 1963 to 1998 and Vice-President from 1998 to 2000. In 1996, Menno received the NTCA Lifetime Director Achievement Award. He served on the NTCA SMC Board from 1985 to 1997, holding the seat of Vice-Chairman in 1990-1991 and as Chairman in 1992-1993. In the local community, he served on the Marshall County Farm Bureau Board from 1975-1977 and again in 1980-1982. He was elected President for both terms. Menno was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and had served on the Parish Council. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and when his children were growing up, he was very active with 4-H and FFA. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Ann in 2007; and brother, Ben Lienemann. Survivors include his sons, Bob (Melissa) Lienemann, Littleton, CO, Fred (Julie) Lienemann, Marysville, Joe (Judy) Lienemann, Atchinson; and daughter, Julie (Galen) Hormann, Marysville; special friend and companion, Janet Bargmann, Marysville; sister, Connie Herfkens, Papillion, NE; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
