Duane Pralle, Hanover, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Cambridge Place, Marysville. Visitation was Tuesday, May 9, from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary, Hanover. A funeral was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 10 at Afton Trinity Lutheran, south of Bremen. Deacon Donald Dodd officiated. Susan Moore was the organist and the congregation sang “Abide with Me,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers were Reggie Craig, Jason Zabokrtsky, Brett Zabokrtsky, Joshua Burks, Michael Gabelhouse, Nick Bruna and Levi Zabokrtsky. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Herkimer. Duane Gilbert Pralle was born January 2, 1942 at the home near Herkimer, the son of Gilbert and Esther (Blaser) Pralle. He was confirmed on April 3, 1955 at Afton Trinity Lutheran, where he was a lifelong member. In 1964, he was drafted into the United States Army and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a farmer/stockman and had a love for his family and his horses. He appreciated it when others came and enjoyed his horses and buggy rides. He especially enjoyed the kids, both his nieces and nephews and his neighbor kids. Each Wednesday, between 5:30 and 6:30, nothing stopped his enjoyment of listening to his polka music. Survivors include his sister, Marcella (Kenneth) Craig, Hanover; brother Melvin (Lynette) Pralle, Greenleaf; nephew, Reggie Craig, Marysville: nieces Cynthia (Donald) Zabokrtsky, Washington, Erin (Joshua) Burks, Jewell and Lori (Michael) Gabelhouse, Lincoln, NE; and great nieces and nephews, Jason, Levi, Brett Zabokrtsky, Ethan and Makaila Craig, Jacob and Caleb Burks and Riley Gabelhouse. Preceding him in death were his parents; infant sister, Laurie; and great niece Ashley Burks. A memorial has been established for Meadowlark Hospice and contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Duane G.
