Ronald W. Meyer, 59, Hollenberg, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE. Visitation is Thursday, May 18, 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary, Hanover. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanover. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Ronald William Meyer was born on January 21, 1958, at the Rice Hospital in Odell, Nebraska, the son of Arnold and Olga (Tegtmeier) Meyer. He received his gift of eternal life on Monday, May 15, while a patient at Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln. Ronald was 59 years, 3 months and 25 days old. He was Baptized into the Christian faith on February 2, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanover, by the Rev. August Pera. His sponsors were John Tegtmeier, Edwin Meyer, and William Tegtmeier. Ronald confessed his Christian faith during the Rite of Confirmation on March 26, 1972 at Trinity. His Confirmation Pastor was Rev. Donald Behrens. Ronald graduated from Hanover High School in 1976 and from Beloit Vo-Tec College in 1978. He was a farmer, carpenter, and a salesman for the Stine Seed Company. His hobbies included woodworking plus he designed and built his own home. Ronald served his Lord as a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran; as a member and officer in the Men’s Club; as Vice President of the Voter’s Assembly and Chairman of the Church Council; as a member of the Youth Choir and the Youth Group. He was a member of the Cemetery Committee, member of the Horseshoe Farmer’s Band, and a member of the Township Board. Ronald made a great Christian impression on all of the hospital staff from the Doctors to the Housekeeping staff. He was a great Christian witness on how a child of God suffers patiently under the trails of life. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents: Arnold and Olga; by his uncles: Arthur Meyer and his wife Bernice; Paul Meyer and his wife Evelyn; Fred Tegtmeier and his wife Luella; by his uncles Edwin Meyer and Vernon Duis Ronald is survived by his sisters, Marlene (Stan) Ohlde, Clay Center, Eunice Meyer and Linda Meyer, Hollenberg; brother, Richard (Becky) Meyer, Hanover; nieces and nephews: Brett (Libby) Ohlde, Clayton (Andrea) Ohlde, Nicole (Drew) Johnson, Derek Meyer, Brandon (Kalyn Wiarda) Meyer and Joshua Meyer; great nieces and nephews: Kinsey, Kasey, Deavon, and Ian Ohlde and Dax Johnson; and aunts, Marcella Duis and Paula Meyer; cousins, and his many, many friends. We give thanks to the Lord for all of His blessings poured out upon Ronald during his life, and especially for his gift of eternal life in Heaven that he now enjoys, through faith in Jesus Christ his Lord.
