Betty A. Seematter, 74, Marysville, died Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Bryan East in Lincoln, Nebraska. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., Monday, July 17 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A funeral service was Tuesday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic Church with Father Nathan Haverland officiating. Organist was Jane Sedlacek and the congregation sang "Here I Am Lord," "On Eagles Wings," "Jealous of the Angels" and "I'll Walk With God." Pallbeares were Billy Novotny, Tony Marquardt, Wil Marquardt, Chuck Marquardt, Calvin Seematter and Raymond Marquardt. Honorary pallbearers were Landon Durham, Christian Seematter, Garrison Craig, Summer Seematter, Cheyenne Seematter, Alex Hanner, Joshua Marquardt, Jacob Stryker, Randy Marquardt, L.G. Novotny, Anna Grauer, Allison Womack, Henry Marquardt, Brian Estes and Robert Marquardt. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Betty was born on May 11, 1943 at Marysville to Laverne and Fern (Stoehr) Funke. She graduated from Marysville High School and on October 12, 1963 married Melvin Seematter. Betty worked for Hall Brothers, KNDY and Marshall County News. Since 1982, she has been an Avon representative. Betty enjoyed gardening, canning and antiques. She liked spending time visiting with family and friends, watching lifetime movies and playing with Dexter, her dog. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Melvin on January 23, 2017; and a granddaughter, Kaylee Ann Durham. Survivors include her children, Diane (Jon) Stryker, Mike Seematter and Susan (Mike) Craig; grandchildren, Landon Durham, Anna Grauer, Cheyenne, Seematter, Jacob Stryker, Christian Seematter, Garrison Craig and Summer Seematter; and sister, Mary Lou (Don) Marquardt, all of Marysville. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
