Hubert H. Roeder "Hub", 102, of Frankfort died Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Frankfort Community Care Home surrounded by family. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m.,Tuesday, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Daniel Schmitz will officiate. Jane Sedlacek will play the organ while Amy Jacques leads the congregation singing “Be Not Afraid”, “I Can Only Imagine”, “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagles Wings”, and “Salve Regina”. The pallbearers will be Dennis Roeder, Leo Roeder, Bob Roeder, Jim Roeder, Bill Matzke, and Jim Fry. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort. Hub was born October 19, 1914 near Gridley, Kansas, to Hubert and Clara (Lorson) Roeder. In 1920, the family relocated to a farm west of Frankfort. This continues to be the family farm. Hub attended the Annunciation Catholic Grade School. In May of 1933, he graduated from Frankfort High School. Hub was a charter member of the Frankfort FFA Chapter and an active member of the Annunciation Catholic Church. On May 9, 1944, he married Marcella M. Boeckman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillis, KS. For many years he was an avid farmer and dairyman. In September of 1978, he semi-retired from farming and moved into Frankfort. Never one to have idle hands, Hub began his hobby of woodworking for which his family has numerous pieces to remember him by. Hub was a loving father of Helen (Jim) Fry, Rossville, KS, Jim (Moogie) Roeder, Bob (Joyce) Roeder, Leo (Nan) Roeder, Dennis (Linda) Roeder, all of Frankfort, and Ann (Bill) Matzke, Delaware, OH; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella in 2006; son, John in 1971; and a great-granddaughter, Elin Morton in 2005. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
