Betty J. Withey

Betty J. Withey, 70, of Marysville, Kan., died December 7, 2017 at her home. Visitation will be Monday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 12 at Kinsley Mortuary. Betty was born December 19, 1946, at Marysville, daughter of Donald and Ilene (Vineyard) Cushing. In 1964, she graduated from Marysville High School. On November 20, 1964, she married Leon Withey. They were parents of one daughter, Lori Ann. Betty was a life-long resident of Marysville. She worked at many places including the City of Marysville, Exchange Bank of Schmidt & Koester, Landoll Corporation, and Citizen's State Bank of Hanover and Marysville. She retired in 2007. She was a volunteer for the Marysville Food Pantry and secretary for the Marysville Alumni for several years. Betty was an avid Kansas Jayhawk fan and enjoyed attending the Country Stampede in Manhattan for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Leon; sister, Donna Metcalf. Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Withey) Hill, Marysville; sister, Linda Hittle, Marysville; and four grandchildren, Cody and Jake Hill, Lawrence, and Megan and Emma Hill, Manhattan; and nieces and nephews.
