Lloyd E. Richardson

Lloyd E. Richardson, 83, of Marysville, Kan., died December 27, 2017 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was Thursday, December 28, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 29 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. Philip Miller officiated. Carol Wright was organist and Wayne Kruse sang "How Great Thou Art." The congregation sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Amazing Grace." Pallbearers were Dennis Richardson, Dale Richardson, David Richardson, Don Richardson, Gene Stohs, Kent Duensing, Don Duensing and Kyule Richardson. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. On May 15, 1960, he was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church by Rev. Wilson R. Maurer. On June 5, 1960, he married Delma Lohse at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Bremen. They were blessed with one son, Curtis, and two daughters, Diane and Candace. Lloyd volunteered as the official timekeeper for Marysville High School football and basketball for 57 years. He and Delma enjoyed going to Branson and took many bus trips together. Lloyd was a wonderful “Papa” who loved spoiling his grandchildren. He loved snow skiing and was convinced he could still ski up to his dying day. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, and in his younger years was an avid roller skater. Lloyd helped his dad with the farming through the years and continued farming after his retirement from the post office. He was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, served on the church council, taught Sunday school, and served in many capacities throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Dean, Warren and Milton Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Delma; children, Curtis (Cindy) Richardson, St. Joseph, Mo., Diane (Dan) Mills, Derby, Kan., Candace (Ross) Wright, Marysville; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Tabitha Wright; Haley, Holly, Heather Mills; Anna, Claire Richardson; sisters-in-law, Mary, Evelyn and Carla Richardson; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
