Janet A. McClellan, 84, of Marysville, Kan., formerly of Beatrice, Neb., died February 4, 2018 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. Philip Miller will officiate. Her granddaughters, the McClellan Singing Sisters will sing. The pallbearers will be Don McClellan, D.J. Mangnall, Jarred McClellan, Chris McClellan, Joshua McClellan, Tanner McClellan, Eugene McClellan III, Shawn McClellan and Jamison Beckmann. Burial will be in the Mission Creek Cemetery, south of Liberty, Neb., near the state line. Janet was born May 15, 1933 at Castalia, Ohio, to William H. and Dorothy E. (Krawetski) Poock. She grew up in Ohio and moved to Burchard, Neb., in 1956 when she married to Eugene McClellan on February 11, 1956. In 1961, they moved to the farm near Liberty, Neb., and lived there until Eugene died in 1993, then Janet moved to Beatrice. She worked for Beatrice State Development Center. In 2015, Janet moved to Marysville. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Summerfield, Kan., St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Beatrice and then Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. She belonged to LWML, Dorcas Society, Caring and Sharing Group and the Choir. In Beatrice, Janet was a volunteer grandparent at St. Paul’s School. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Eugene; son, Donald McClellan; and three brothers, Eugene, Paul and Richard. Survivors include her children, William (Joni) McClellan, Marysville, Marla (Darold) Beckmann, Bremen, Kan., Timothy (Judy) McClellan, Adams, Neb., Eugene (Wendy) McClellan Jr., Liberty, Neb., Mark (Nina) McClellan, Marysville, and Barbara Mangnall, Marysville; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
