Betty L. Fincham

Betty L. Fincham, 86, died Monday, September 23, 2019 at Cambridge Place, Marysville. Visitation was Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Kinsley Mortuary from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.  The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 26 at the Berean Church, Marysville. Jason Blunk and Sheldon Smith officiated.  The musicians were Matthew Fincham, Michelle O'Tool and Kathy Fincham.  Music selections were "Finally Home" and "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Mike Fincham, Mark Fincham, Matthew Fincham, Jason Blunk, Travis Fincham, Trent Fincham, Sam O'Tool and Chris Murphy. Burial was in Marysville City Cemetery. Betty Lou Fincham was born January 29, 1933 at the family home northwest of Beattie, KS, to William and Ethel (Stanberry) Taylor. On December 28, 1952, she married Wayne Fincham at the United Methodist Church in Beattie. To this union were 4 children, Don, Barb, Ron and Steven. Betty spent her entire life in Marshall County as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and especially baking bread and making cinnamon rolls for her kids, grandkids, family and church gatherings. She enjoyed many crafts, especially crocheting and scherenschnitte. She crocheted an afghan for each of her grandkids for their high school graduation and many Christmas decorations. Betty along with her husband operated Fincham Crop Insurance until they retired in 1997. They enjoyed spending winters at Maranatha Village in Florida for several years. Betty was an active member of Winifred Baptist Church and later Victory Baptist Church where she taught various Sunday school classes. Her desire would be for all to know and accept Jesus as their Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; infant son, Steven; parents; and sisters, Nina Mae Gress and Cleo Smercheck. Left to celebrate her life are her children, Don (Nancy) Fincham, Marysville, Barb (Mike) Blunk, Ankeny, IA, and Ron (Kathy) Fincham, Des Moines, IA; along with nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
