Brian "Polar" D. Polson, 59, of Marysville, KS, died May 28, 2023, at his home. Visitation was Monday, June 5, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, at Kinsley Mortuary. Pastor David Winquist officiated. Music included "I Remember Everything" and "How Great Thou Art." The honorary pallbearers were Kenny Johnston, Anthony Polson, Nathan Porting, Jonah Porting, Luke Polson and Jeremy Nester. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Brian was born September 20, 1963, in Marysville, to Gale and Margaret (Waxler) Polson. He attended Marysville schools. Brian worked as a mechanic for Bergren Motors and Nordhus Motors. He also was a job coach at Twin Valley and worked for Tyler Martin Co. Brian was an avid lover of music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He had an eye for old cars and tractors, as well as a wealthy knowledge of all things history. He enjoyed animals, especially dogs and cats. Brian’s close and extended family was very important to him, and he would spend as much quality time with his nieces and nephews as possible. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Marysville and in the past was a member of the Moose Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his siblings, Rick Polson, Blue Rapids, KS, Tim (Kellene) Polson, Fairbury, NE, Gayla (Pat) Hogan, Marysville, Brent (Sherri) Polson, Marysville, and Marla (Ed) Porting, Axtell, KS; an aunt; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
