Carolyn J. Keating, 84, Frankfort, died Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the Frankfort Care Home. Visitation will be Friday, September 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lillis from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service following at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 19 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Carolyn was born October 11, 1935 at Concordia to Joe and Loretta (Tommer) Charbonneau. She graduated high school and earned a teaching certificate at “The Mount” in Atchinson, KS. She taught school at Kelley, KS prior to her marriage. On February 16, 1957, she was united in marriage to Gerald Keating at Concordia. They were blessed with three sons and two daughters. After her marriage, Carolyn was a homemaker and managed the books for Keating Feedlot. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 54 years, until it closed. and then became a member of Annunciation Church in Frankfort. Carol belonged to St. Joseph Altar Society, Annunciation Altar Society and the Frankfort Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending time with family at get togethers and being together especially at Christmas. Carol loved her flower beds and yard, working in them as much as possible. In their younger years, Carol and Jerry enjoyed traveling with their brothers/sisters around the U.S. to Ireland, Turkey and other countries. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoying reading as often as possible. Carol had a love of cats, especially Millie, except when Millie tried to eat her wild birds she fed during the winter. Preceding her in death were her parents; and sister, Delores Turrentine. Survivors include her husband, Gerald; children, Greg Keating, Vermillion, Chris (Tom) McGehee, Goddard, Steve (Jodi) Keating, Frankfort, David Keating, Frankfort, Susan (Gary) Koch, Frankfort; sister, Janet Bisnette; brother, Charles Charbonneau; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort.
