Clarita Hora, 87, Wichita, formerly of Marysville, died March 25, 2023, at Regent Park Assisted Living and Memory Care. Visitation was from 11 to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Kinsley Mortuary. A graveside service was held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, at the Marysville City Cemetery. Clarita was born on May 18, 1935, to Roy and Sabina (Wehlan) Manley in Summerfield, KS. She was a high school graduate. Clarita was united in marriage to Robert Hora and to this union three children were born. She worked as a cook for Marysville High School for thirty-five years. Every year, Clarita would share her meatball recipe in the newspapers around the holidays. She loved to decorate, even if it was months prior to the season. Family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with them and her cat, Poughkue. Later on in life, she moved from Marysville to Wichita to be closer to her sons. Clarita enjoyed karaoke nights and loved all types of music. She enjoyed watching Olympic figure skating and never missed one of her family's Footloose dance recitals. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert in 1993; daughter, Sheryl Massie in 2018; and sister, Rosie DeKoning. Survivors include her sons, Robert Hora Jr. and David Hora, both of Wichita; son-in-law, Tom Massie, Vermillion; grandchildren, Tommie (Brandon) Feldkamp, Vermillion, Joel (Erika) Massie, Lakewood, CO; and great grandchildren, Clara and Edward Feldkamp. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
