Corey Joseph Warders, 26, of Marysville, passed away on February 21, 2022. Visitation was Friday, February 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary vigil service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 26, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Quentin Schmitz officiated. The musicians were Cindy Voet, Sterling Clark and Paula Landoll-Smith. Music included “One More Day”, “I’ll Fly Away”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagles Wings”, “You Are Mine”, “Song of Farewell” and “Ave Maria”. The pallbearers were Mark Howell, Tyler Nordhus, Tyler Nicholson, Damon Young, Joe Brown, Thad Botkin and Jared Wilson. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Corey was born on May 22, 1995, in Manhattan, KS, to Kevin and Rebecca Warders. After graduating from Marysville High School, he began working for Landoll Corporation in Marysville. On January 15, 2021, he married his wife, Andra Nguyen. Corey took great pride in working at Landoll’s. He had a strong work ethic and was always willing to take on extra shifts and duties. He was quiet, kind, accepting of everyone, and incredibly intelligent. His friends and family appreciated his quick wit and supportive nature. Corey always showed up for others. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed providing advice to friends and family about investments and many other aspects of life. Corey could even explain cryptocurrency in a way that almost made sense. He owned multiple properties in Marysville and was a generous and understanding landlord. He was always tinkering with something, especially cars and woodworking projects. If his nickname were not already “Corndawg” it would have been “Tinker”. Corey was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Phyllis Runnebaum and Katherine Pacha; aunt, Anne Marie; and uncles, Jeff Warders and Jerry Runnebaum. Survivors include his wife, Andra; stepson, Raurie; parents, Kevin Warders and Rebecca Pacha, all of Marysville; brothers, Keith Warders, Manhattan, and Keagan Warders, Marysville; grandparents, Raymond Pacha, Marysville, and Joe and Jean Warders, Blue Rapids; uncles, Robert Pacha, Marysville, David Runnebaum, Silver Lake, KS, and Dustin (Dava) Warders, Blue Rapids; aunts, Julia (Rod) Larsen, Arvada, CO, Annette Smith, Marysville, and Hope (Andy) Buessing, Colwich, KS; and numerous cousins. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
