Dennis L. Kane

September 29, 1947 — September 13, 2024

Marysville, KS

Dennis “Denny” L. Kane, 76, of Marysville, Kansas, passed away on September 13, 2024 at Cambridge Place in Marysville.

A private family service will be held at a later date to his memory.

Denny was born on September 29, 1947, in Marysville to Harry and Grace (Rickert) Kane. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1965 and dedicated much of his career as a Conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. Denny also worked alongside his father at the family rock quarry south of Marysville and engaged in farming. After his father's passing, he and his brother-in-law, Bernard Dwerlkotte, continued to run the rock quarry until their retirement.

Denny had a love for farming and a passion for raising Newfoundland dogs and horses. He cherished spending time at the farm, whether with friends or enjoying peaceful moments alone. An avid coin collector, Denny also took pleasure in watching Kansas University Basketball games with his friends, hunting and going on Jeep trips to Colorado, and often enjoying a refreshing Pepsi and a Snickers bar. His commitment to his community was evident as a member of both the Shriner and Masonic organizations, where he proudly drove his buggy in local parades.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Denny is survived by his daughter, Noel (Robert) Pitts of Cumming, Georgia; sister, Marla (Bernard) Dwerklotte; and grandchildren, Sara and Nicolas Pitts.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory, which will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in the care of Kinsley Mortuary.
