In 1973, they moved to Marysville and she graduated from Marysville High School in 1986.Diane worked as a receptionist at Landoll Corporation, was temporary office help for USDA, and waitressed at Carolyn’s Kitchen, Bell’s Restaurant and the Marysville Country Club. She was a receptionist at Cowboy’s Custom Cycle in Washington. In 2009, she moved to Sterling, Neb., where she was a waitress at Scott’s Place and she also worked at Smartville Station, St. Mary, Neb..She enjoyed riding motorcycles, attending concerts, and just plain old hanging out in general with friends and family. Diane was a dog lover, big or small she loved them all. Her love of dogs began in 4-H in her grade school days in Marysville.Diane loved to find a good bargain at garage sales and flea markets. Her smile could light up an entire room and her laughter was contagious. Diane had a hidden talent and that was her singing voice. Diane was a caring and compassionate lady and a great mother to her son, Hunter Bartels. She was always involved if possible when there was a memorial motorcycle ride or “poker run” to benefit others. But most of all she loved her son Hunter.Diane had culinary skills and could cook just about anything. Hunter said there was only one meal he didn’t enjoy and that was an orange chicken recipe! Diane definitely inherited her cooking skills from her Dad, Larry. She was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors include her son, Hunter Bartels; and sisters, Deb (Doug) Landoll and Laurie (Mark) Carlson.A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
