Donald "Don" J. Kramer, 76, of Marysville, KS, died July 16, 2021 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation is Tuesday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary vigil service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 21 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. The service will be live streamed on our Facebook page. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. The musician is Kelley Smith and the songs to be played are "Amazing Grace", "I Can Only Imagine", “Prayer of St. Francis”, “Lord, I Need You” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers are Jeremy Underwood, Mike Spielman, Bret Spielman, Doug Bailey, John Wenger and Gary West. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Don was born December 6, 1944, to Walter and Gertrude (Wetter) Kramer. He attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Grade School in Marysville and graduated from Marysville High School in 1963. Don studied for one year at Emporia State University. On October 14, 1967, he married Elizabeth (Betty) Deters at Baileyville Sacred Heart Church. They were blessed with two children, Julie and Chad. Betty passed away in 1998. On September 3, 1999, he married Dorothy Koch-Spielman at Sabetha Sacred Heart Church. Don started Kramer Oil in Marysville when he bought the business from Standard Oil in 1976. He continued to grow the business in the 1980s by working long hard hours. In the early 1990s, he hired a few employees including Gary West to help him out. In the early 2000s, he moved the office and bulk plant to the current location and son Chad started in the business in 2004. Don continued to grow the business through several acquisitions and more employees. He happily retired in August of 2017. Don was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (4th degree), FuelTrue (formerly Petroleum Marketers of Kansas) Member, Marysville Mutual Board Member, and Marysville Chamber of Commerce Board Member including helping build the playground at the city park. Don liked fishing, gardening, traveling, spending time with family and especially the annual Kramer Reunion. Preceding him in death were his parents; 1st wife Betty; sister, Betty Yonkey; and granddaughter, Bellamy Kramer. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Julie (Jeremy) Underwood, Atchison, KS; son, Chad (Joy) Kramer, Marysville; stepsons, Mike (Angie) Spielman, Baldwin City, KS, Bret (Amy) Spielman, Sabetha, KS; stepdaughters, Lisa (Doug Bailey) Spielman, Shawnee, KS, Joy (John) Wenger, Sabetha, KS; sisters, June (Bill) Gordon, Loveland, CO, Pat (Gary) Saville, Topeka, KS; brothers, Leroy (Linda) Kramer, Junction City, KS, Bob (Susie) Kramer, Holton, KS, Dennis (Peggy) Kramer, Marysville, Randy (Jill) Kramer, Bartlesville, OK; brother-in-law, Art Yonkey, Hickman, NE; grandchildren, Samuel Underwood, Shea Kramer, Cam Kramer, Max Kramer, Kane Kramer, and Blaise Kramer; step grandchildren, Chelsea (Alan) Foutch, Darrin Wenger, Karlie Spielman, Kyle Spielman, and Kellan Spielman; step great grandchildren, Brayden and Tatum Foutch. A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church Building Fund and St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
