Doris E. Wright, 90, of Beattie, KS, died December 5, 2022, at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be Monday, December 12, from 1-9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, at the Beattie United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Akins will officiate. The pallbearers will be Eric Wright, Landon Wright, Garrison Wright, Tyler Wright, Tanner Wright and Charlie Bottom. Burial will be in the Beattie Union Cemetery. Doris was born May 2, 1932, at Pawnee City, NE, daughter of Alvin and Mary (Taylor) Bacon. The family moved to Beattie when she was in the 8th grade. In 1950, she served as the Class President for her graduating class at Beattie High School. On November 25, 1951, she married Robert “Bob” E. Wright at the Beattie United Methodist Church. To this union four children were born. She went on harvest with her family from 1968-2006. On harvest she kept the clothes clean and provided meals to everyone. She did bookkeeping for the family business. Doris also worked at the Beattie Bank, Beattie Co-op, was secretary at the Beattie School, and kept track of water usage for the City of Beattie. Doris and Bob enjoyed watching their children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Even after the grandchildren graduated, Doris and Bob continued to enjoy attending games. She also enjoyed snow skiing, cardinals, butterflies and collecting praying hands. She was a member of the Beattie United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Doris served on the USD 364 School Board. She volunteered for many Beattie community projects and was very active with the Beattie Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob, on May 10, 2015; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Janice Bacon; two granddaughters, Samantha and Ronda Wright; great-granddaughter, Maria Wright, and great-grandson, Colton Wright. Survivors include her sons, Rick (Carol) Wright, Marysville, Robin (Laurie) Wright, Beattie, Ross (Candace) Wright, Marysville, and Ron Wright, Polo, MO; brother, Bob (Shirley) Bacon, Austin, TX; ten grandchildren, Eric (Tracy) Wright, Morgan (Trevor) Reed, Landon (Erin) Wright, Olivia (Cody) Wright, Garrison Wright, Tyler (Angel) Wright, Tanner Wright, Tabi Wright, Ronny Snoe and Charlie Bottom; and twelve great grandchildren, Maddox, Kannon, Brecken Wright, Callion, Axel, Rhyatt Reed, Tycen, Cohen Wright, Isaiah, Iris Wright, Gavin Carrillo and Rylee Snoe.
