Earl Henry Oldehoeft

Earl H. Oldehoeft, 80, Hanover, died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, NE.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, from noon until 8 p.m. at Hanover Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Bremen. Rev. Aaron T. Fenker, Sr. will officiate. Kathy Pralle will play the organ. The hymns will be "How Great Thou Art", "Heaven is My Home" and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives".

Pallbearers are Stuart Vitosh, Ron Spier, Todd Crome, Scott Crome, Brian Oldehoeft and Jason Oldehoeft.

Burial will be at the Immanuel Cemetery.

Earl was born May 6, 1941 in Bremen to Edmond and Hilda (Tegtmeier) Oldehoeft. In 1959, he graduated from Hanover High School. Earl served in the Army and when he was honorably discharged he returned to the farm. Earl was a dairy farmer and raised crops. When he sold the dairy, Earl went to work for Dank’s Market then Crome’s as a stocker and carried out the groceries. He loved helping people that came into the store and made many new friends. Earl enjoyed family holidays, birthdays and reunions. He played cards in a club that involved many neighboring friends. He liked fishing with family, gardening, canning, cooking and BBQ’s. He especially enjoyed his time working with Arlin Holle doing carpentry. Earl was active in his church, serving on the cemetery board and belonged to the men’s club. He also served on the school board.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Eldean Oldehoeft; daughter, Valerie Oldehoeft; and son, Michael Oldehoeft.

Survivors include, his wife, Ruth; son, Paul (Carrie) Oldehoeft, Hanover; brothers, Harold (Karen) Oldehoeft, Norfolk, NE, Leonard (Elaine) Oldehoeft, Exeter, NE; sister, Carolyn Vitosh, Odell, NE; and eight grandchildren, Gunner Zidek, Luke Oldehoeft, Megan Fletcher, Drew Oldehoeft, Colin Oldehoeft, Cameron Erickson, Danielle Erickson and Codie Luedke and three great grandchildren, Laith Zidek, Susan Fletcher and Greyson Luedke. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
