Eleanor Zarybnicky

Eleanor Ann Zarybnicky, 92, Odell, NE, passed away December 29, 2019, on the Feast of the Holy Family at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary.  The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2 at St. John's Catholic Church. The pallbearers will be Eleanor’s sons and sons-in-laws; John, Jim, Tom, Rick, Ron Zarybnicky, Ron Schlabach and John Jueneman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Eleanor was born September 27, 1927, to William and Anna (Jedlicka) Goeckel.  She attended Sunnyside Country School. On August 18, 1949, she married Ernest Zarybnicky at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover.  To this union 8 children were born.  They lived 44 years on the same farmstead until Ernest preceded her in death on March 5, 1994.  Eleanor spent those 44 years farming alongside her husband while raising their 8 children.  Her biggest and proudest accomplishments were her faith and family. Eleanor was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church and St. John’s Altar Society.  She enjoyed volunteering with the ladies on the label committee.  Eleanor loved flowers and mowing her lawn which she was able to do last spring. Survivors include her 7 children; Marge (Ron) Schlabach, Hanover, John (Patty) Zarybnicky, Odell, Barb (John) Jueneman, Hanover, Jim (Kathy) Zarybnicky, Hanover, Tom Zarybnicky, Odell, Rick (Tammy) Zarybnicky, Odell, and Ron (Cathy) Zarybnicky, Odell, NE; 103 grand and great grandchildren for whom she prayed for by name each night, Lori (Mel), Chris (Kelly), Micaella & Brandt Beikmann; Niki (Bob), Ryan, Nate, Dean, & Will Luppen; Jarod (Meredith), Trinity, Ian, Mason, & Dave Schlabach; Erin (Travis), Amelia, Jayden, & Eleanor Hynek; Amy (Jed), Bryce, & Case Hynek; Tony Zarybnicky; Michael (Renae), Caleb, Jacen, & Brinley Zarybnicky; Craig (Casey) Zarybnicky; Krista (Andrew), Ella, Sam, & Lauren Haake; Emily Zarybnicky; Steve (Tiffany), Jake, Noah, Anna, Braden, & Carter Jueneman; Amanda (Jeff), Patrick, Michael, & Gracie Cook; Dan (Jen), Leigha, Isaac, Tyson, & Kayla Jueneman; Julie Jueneman; Doug (Emily), Izzy, Liz, Ben, Nick, Luke, Lily, &Tommy Jueneman; Mark, Pamela (Bob), Adam, Claire, Zachary, Michelle, Joshua, & Hannah Zarybnicky; Mindy (Luke), Madelyn, Logan, Ethan, Nathan, & Jordan Barnard; Abigail (Brent), Preston, Austin, & Carson Kostal; Jana (Cooper), Calvin Bollman; Katie Zarybnicky; Kimberly (Tyler), Payeton, & Andrew Milligan; Angela Zarybnicky; Andrea (Noah) Zarybnicky; and Theresa (Marcus) Eickmann; sister, Mary Ann Klecan; sisters-in-law, Nancy Goeckel and Barbara Zarybnicky; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joe; grandson, Andrew Zarybnicky; great grandsons, Alex and Aaron Jueneman; brother, Bill Goeckel; and in-laws, Orvill Klecan, Harold and Evelyn Meints, Art & Martha Zarybnicky, and Don Zarybnicky. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
