Frances M. Massie

Frances M. Massie, 97, Frankfort, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at Eastridge Nursing Home, Centralia. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 30 at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A graveside funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 31 at Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion. Frances was born February 4, 1924 in Chappell, NE to Elmer and Myrtle (Sagel) Peterson. In 1943, she graduated Gilcrest High School, Gilcrest, CO. She was united in marriage to Rex L. Massie on April 6, 1946 at Denver, CO. They were blessed with two daughters, Sharon and Dianna. Frances was a housewife and homemaker and enjoyed reading and gardening. Frances kept accounting for Rex's Masonary business and farm. She also worked for H&R Block in Frankfort for several years. Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Rex on August 27, 2007. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Smith, Shoreview, MN, Dianna (Dave) Younger, Frankfort; three grandchildren and a great grandson. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.
