September 11, 1956 — March 12, 2018

Gilbert (Bobo) Valdevia Sanchez Jr., 61, Marysville, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at his home.A service was held at 5 p.m., Thursday, March 15 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.  Father Nathan Haverland officiated.  Speakers were Ariona Miller, William (Travis ) Nease, and Scott Padgett.  Mr. Padgett also read a message sent from Jennifer Herrera of California.Gilbert was born on September 11, 1956 at Los Angeles, Calif. to Gilbert and Catalina (Quinones) Sanchez. He graduated Garfield High School East, Los Angeles in 1974 and from Los Angeles Trade Tech College in 1976.   He was united in marriage to Linda Leach on November 30, 1986 at Rosemead, Calif.  They moved to Kansas in 1996.  Gilbert worked as a production operator at Georgia Pacific, Blue Rapids.  Gilbert was given the nickname “Bobo” from his mother at a young age.  She called him Bobo Brazil.  The grandchildren loved calling him “Bobo”.  If he wasn’t sitting around building legos with the kids, you might have found him gardening.  He loved his flowers, and tending to them.  Bobo also loved to travel with all of his family in his spare time.  Although he hadn’t had much time in his later years, when he was younger he was in a bowling league, and loved to golf in his spare time.  He enjoyed his Sunday nights binge watching T.V with his bride.  Bobo took pride in being a family man.  Although he never had children of his own, he loved his stepchildren as if they were his. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.  His laugh, and sense of humor will be thought of often.         Survivors include his wife, Linda; stepchildren, Travis Nease, Marysville, Troy Nease, Fillmore, MO., Joy (Scott) Padgett, and Angela Harding, both of Marysville; his sister, Wendy Calderon; and brothers Kenny Sanchez and Phillip Perez; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
