James "Jamie" E. Walker

James "Jamie" Eric Walker, 51, from Bentley, LA, and residing in Oketo, KS, died July 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6, from 4-8 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Jamie will be transported to his hometown in Louisiana for services and burial there. A visitation with family present will be held Friday, July 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gallagher Funeral Home, 3994 Monroe Hwy, Ball LA 71405. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gallagher Funeral Home. The pallbearers will be Walt Young, David Young, Craig Elliff, Keith Wade, Jeff Brady and Jay Evans. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery near Bentley, LA. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 20 at Marysville Christian Fellowship in Marysville. Jamie was born March 23, 1971, Alexandria, LA, to Bonnie and Kenneth Walker. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in forestry. In 2013, he moved to Kansas. On November 22, 2019, he married Susan Zutterman Pacha at Marysville, KS. He was an avid hunter, loved college football, baseball, and anything LSU. Jamie enjoyed meeting new people and sharing stories or giving advice. He was wise beyond his years. Jamie enjoyed working on deer stands and comparing deer pictures from trail cams with hunting buds. Jamie worked as an independent forester for 25 years and later became a Special Agent for Catastrophe Sites with State Farm Insurance. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Alfred and Agnes Smith, and paternal grandparents, Idell and Clifford Jack Walker. Survivors include his wife, Susan Walker, Oketo, KS; parents, Bonnie and Kenneth Walker, Bentley, LA; two daughters, Jessica Detillier and husband, Jody, of Grant Parish, LA, and granddaughter, Janie Layne; Jacie Jaramillo and husband, Chris, of Grant Parish, and grandson to be, Morgan James; Susan’s three girls, Jackie (Ricky) Creek, Brandi (Derek) Pretre and Sydney Pacha and their children, Nora, Clara, Isaac, Harper, Ryder and Hadley, all of Marysville, KS; and of course the treasured son, Bleux:); sisters, Jennifer Walker of Whitehouse, TX, and Stephanie Hamilton and husband, Alek, of Whitehouse, TX, and their girls Tess, Kate, Emmy and Josie.
