Jennifer M. Gee

March 24, 1947 — March 21, 2024

Marysville, Kansas

Jennifer M. Gee, beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.

A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 23 at the Marysville City Cemetery.

Burial followed.

Born on March 24, 1947 in Marysville, Jennifer was the first born child of Harold and Edna (McKee) Gee and grew up on the farm north of Home, Kansas.  She learned quickly, and could read fluently before ever going to school.  Her early memories included spending time with family, the farm, attending country school, and then Summerfield High School, graduating as co-valedictorian in 1965.

She made her home in Axtell, Kansas and was employed by USD 488 serving as district clerk there for many years, forming lifelong friendships before retiring to care for her mother.

Jennifer was a loyal person and is remembered for her kind, listening ear and good advice as well as her professionalism in her work.  She was an excellent mentor to many who worked in the school systems.  She quietly and selflessly helped and cared for others, never seeking praise or attention for herself.

Jennifer loved her family, friends, pets, reading, and her coffee!  She enjoyed watching baseball and her favorite Bible teacher on T.V.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Greg and Stuart; nephew, Seth; and two sisters-in-law, Valerie and Jeanne.

Survivors include her brothers, Steve (Debbie) Gee and Mike (Ruth) Gee; sister, Kristyn (Jack) Hain; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
