Joy "Dee" D'Ann Nutt

Joy "Dee" D'Ann Nutt, 77, Overland Park, died Thursday, November 11, 2021 at her residence. Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Beattie, KS. Burial will be in the Beattie Union Cemetery. Joy D'Ann (Dee) was born on July 14,1944 in Shawnee Mission, KS. She was united in marriage to her husband, Edwin L. Nutt on June 5, 1965. Much of her life was spent exploring the country in search of history through the National Pony Express Conventions & Re-Rides, serenity within hundreds of national parks she explored with her husband, Ed and antiques at any possible moment. Though, it was family and community that became her true calling in life. Be it cooking a meal that could feed all of Beattie or hosting the many infamous parties, with every square inch of the house decorated for the season. Dee was always the first to start up a conversation and could talk for hours on end giving that advice you needed to hear, talking up the towns gossip or swapping stories of her children and grandchildren. An impeccable person, daughter, mother and Nana. She will be missed and live on through those she loved. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Elmer and Virginia (Barber) Saltzman; husband Edwin Nutt; and daughter Lori D'Ann Nutt. She is survived by daughter, Mindy Fields, Overland Park; and grandson, Ryan Sweat, New York, NY.
