Julie A. (Wassenberg) Merit

Julie A. (Wassenberg) Merit, age 65, of Marysville, Kansas, died October 5, 2026, at her home.

Services and burial are pending.

Julie was born March 14, 1961, in Marysville, the daughter of Laurence F. and Norma Jean (Dow) Wassenberg. She grew up in Marysville and attended Marysville schools.

Throughout the years, Julie worked as a cook at June’s Bar & Grill and other area restaurants. She also worked for Hall Brothers, where she operated a roller/packer. Julie enjoyed gardening and spending time socializing with family and friends.

Julie was married to Keith Merit, and they later separated.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Wassenberg; and sister, Lori Wassenberg.

Survivors include her son, Jason Wassenberg; granddaughter, Cheyenne Wassenberg; niece, Jenna Nelson and her son, Landon; and many cousins.

A memorial fund has been established in Julie’s name and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
