Karen Rengstorf, 69, of Bremen, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025.

A visitation was held on Thursday, October 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, north of Bremen.

A funeral service took place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 10 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Pastor William Wingfield officiated.  Hymns included "Children of the Heavenly Father", "Blessed Be the Tie That Binds", and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives".

The pallbearers were Craig Harries, Andrew Duever, Ryan Rengstorf, Owen Maschmeier, Lucas Maschmeier, and Mitchell Rengstorf.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Karen was born on January 14, 1956, in Marysville, Kansas to Ernest Niemann and Edna Klipp. She grew up in the country outside of Hanover, Kansas, surrounded by family and friends.

She married Douglas Rengstorf on October 4, 1975, and shared a life of farming and raising their three children outside of Bremen, Kansas.

Throughout her life, Karen was known for her faith, strength, work ethic, cooking, and gardening. She loved working with children and was employed by both Marysville Public Schools, Marysville, Kansas, and St. Paul Lutheran School in Beatrice, Nebraska. Her love of family will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Rengstorf; her three children and their spouses: Joshua and Nopnila Rengstorf, Amy and Michael Duever, and Mikaela and Dustin Maschmeier; eight grandchildren: Samantha Rengstorf, Kaitlyn Rengstorf, Andrew Duever, Olivia Duever, Isaiah Duever, Lucas Maschmeier, Owen Maschmeier and Lincoln Maschmeier; her mother-in-law, Lola Mae Rengstorf; her sisters: Deanne Harries, Alvera Leseberg and Ladonna Rengstorf; her brothers-in-law: Curtis Rengstorf and Dennis Rengstorf; her sister-in-law Sheryl Rengstorf; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law: Eugene Rengstorf; her brothers-in-law: William Harries, Jim Leseberg; and her nephew, Brandon Rengstorf.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
