Kristi Denise (Samuelson) Meyer, 68, of Baileyville, Kansas, passed away March 21, 2026, at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

A visitation was held Thursday, March 26, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary service followed at 7:00 p.m. at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Beattie.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 27, at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, with Father Quentin Schmitz officiating. Musicians were Laura O’Neil and Wayne Kruse. Musical selections included “You Are Mine,” “Here I Am, Lord,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Song of Farewell,” and “Like a Shepherd.”

Pallbearers were Brady Bruna, Brent Bruna, Chase Meyer, Scott Holthaus, Shane Roever, Dustin Walters, and Michael Tryon. Honorary pallbearers were Doug Gerleve, Ted Nemec, Bob Mitchell, Mike Ring, Tim Haverkamp, and Jim Haverkamp. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, north of Beattie.

Kristi was born August 17, 1957, the second daughter of Murvin and Bernice (Nemec) Samuelson. She attended St. Malachy’s Catholic Grade School in Beattie and graduated from Marysville High School in 1975.

She began her career at First National Bank in Beattie and later worked at Marysville Mutual Insurance Company through the OEA program during high school. She continued her career with Marshall County Farm Bureau and Citizens State Bank in Marysville, where she served for 35 years, retiring as a vice president.

On July 13, 2007, she was united in marriage to Mike Meyer. They shared 18 years together, enjoying time spent checking farm ground and cattle, traveling to look at machinery, attending Kansas City Royals games, and occasionally traveling to Minneapolis for additional games. They also enjoyed attending K-State sporting events.

Kristi found joy in shopping with friends, antiquing, creating barn quilt blocks, and embroidery. She courageously fought cancer for nine years.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; her son, Josh (Amber) Meyer of Seneca; grandchildren, Cash, Callie, Colt, and Coy Meyer; her sister, Karen (Bob) Bortz of Grand Island, Nebraska; and her brother, Kevin (Jodi) Samuelson of Marysville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Kenneth Meyer; and her nephew, Ethan Samuelson.

A memorial fund has been established to benefit various local nonprofit organizations. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements.
