Larry L. Wohlbrandt

Larry Wohlbrandt, 83, of Marysville, KS, died June 15, 2023, at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 23, at the Marysville City Cemetery. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. Larry was born September 26, 1939, in Hollenberg, KS, to Harold and Eva (Jedlicka) Wohlbrandt. In 1957, he graduated from Washington High School. He then went on to receive his associate degree from Fairbury College in 1959. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. On February 6, 1966, Larry was united in marriage to Neola Faye Bruce in Estes Park, CO. To this union, they were blessed with a son and a daughter. Larry worked as a mechanic in the oil shale industry until his retirement in 2000. In his younger years, Larry was involved with the ELKS, The Independent Order of Foresters and the Colorado River Skippers. Larry was a lover of the outdoors. His favorite thing to do was fish, but he also enjoyed hunting, rock hunting and anything outside where his family could be with him. Larry believed that the outdoors was God’s greatest creation. He will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather. Preceding him in death were his wife, Neola; parents, Harold and Eva; brother, Harold Wohlbrandt; grandson, Daniel Lee Wohlbrandt; granddaughter, Emma Lee Wohlbrandt; and brother-in-law, Thomas Huffman. Survivors include his children, Rusty (Alice) Wohlbrandt, Marysville, and Tammy (Kevin) Moser, Riley, KS; grandchildren, Hunter Wohlbrandt, Wakefield, KS, Sara Wohlbrandt, Warner Robins, GA, and Jacob (Jordan) Moser; siblings, Pauline Huffmann, Marysville, and Jack Wohlbrandt, Greenleaf, KS; and great-grandchildren, Laykin Moser and Layla Moser.
