Lawrence F. Suther, 91, of Frankfort, KS, died May 14, 2023, at the Wellsprings Care Home in Westmoreland, KS. A rosary service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Father Anthony Chendumalli officiated. The pallbearers included nephews, John Huninghake, Leo Huninghake, Joe Harrington, Bob Fisher, Joe Sperfslage, and Frank Sperfslage. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Lawrence was born on February 21, 1932, at Winifred, KS, to Frank and Wilma (Stoever) Suther. He attended a one room country school until the 8th grade. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. Lawrence loved to live the rural life. Farming and taking care of his Herefords were his passion. He also enjoyed a good card game. The family thanks the staff at Westmoreland Care Home and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness. Preceding him in death are his parents, Frank and Wilma Suther; sisters, Rachel Huninghake and Helen Fisher; brothers-in-law, Dan Denneler, Victor Huninghake, Lawrence Fisher and Don Sperfslage; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Suther. Survivors include his brother, Jim Suther, Atchison, KS; sisters, Mary Ann Sperfslage, Seneca, KS, Margaret Denneler, Colby, KS, and Wilma Harrington, Frankfort; and many nieces and nephews.
