Linda Ruth Meyer

Linda Ruth Meyer, 64, Hollenberg, died April 27, 2021 at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park, KS Visitation will be held from noon until 8 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Hanover Mortuary, Hanover, KS. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, North of Hanover. Rev. Rodney Fritz will officiate. Arlyce Klipp and David Heuer are the musicians. The music includes “Lord Take My Hand and Lead Me”, “On Eagles Wings”, “Amazing Grace”, and “Almighty Fortress.” Pallbearers are Brett Ohlde, Clayton Ohlde, Drew Johnson, Derek Meyer, Brandon Meyer, and Joshua Meyer. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Linda Ruth Meyer was born on June 25, 1956 at the Rice Hospital in Odell, Nebraska, the daughter of Arnold Meyer and his wife Olga (Tegtmeier) Meyer. Linda received her gift of eternal life in Heaven on April 27, 2021 while a patient at the Menorah Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas. Linda was 64 years, 10 months, and 2 days old. She was Baptized into the Christian faith on July 8, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Hanover by the Rev. Theo Kauffeld. Her sponsors were: Mrs. Martha Tegtmeier, Mrs. Evelyn Meyer; and Mrs. Paula Meyer. Linda confessed her Christian faith in the Rite of Confirmation on March 22, 1970. Her Confirmation Pastor was Rev. Donald Behrens. Linda graduated from the 8th Grade from Trinity Lutheran School. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1974. She then attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice receiving her degree as a Medical Transcriptionist. She served her Lord as a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran; as a member of Trinity’s Adult Choir; as a Sunday School Teacher, a Vacation Bible School Teacher, and as a teacher for the 5th and 6th Grade Midweek Classes. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking and baking. Her family was very special for her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Arnold and Olga; by her brother Ronald in 2017; by her uncles: Arthur Meyer and his wife Bernice; Paul Meyer and his wife Evelyn; Edwin Meyer and his wife Paula; Fred Tegtmeier and his wife Luella; Carl Tegtmeier and his wife Marie; John Tegtmeier and his wife Martha; William Tegtemeier and his wife Mable. She was preceded in death by her three aunts: Hilda Oldehoeft and her husband Edmond; Hulda Lohse and her husband Martin; and Marcella Duis and her husband Vernon. She is survived by her sister: Marlene Ohlde and husband Stan of Clay Center; by her brother Richard Meyer and his wife Becky of Hanover; by her sister: Eunice Meyer of Hollenberg; by her nieces and nephews: Brett Ohlde and his wife Heather; Clayton Ohlde and his wife Andrea; Nicole Johnson and her husband Drew; Derek Meyer, Brandon Meyer and his wife Kalyn; and Joshua Meyer. She is survived by her great nieces and nephews: Kinsey, Kasey, Deavon, and Ian Ohlde; Dax Johnson; Ally, Ayla, and Andyn Johnson. She is finally survived by her many cousins and friends. We give thanks to the Lord for all of His blessings poured out upon Linda during her life, and especially for the Lord’s gift of eternal life in Heaven that she now enjoys, through faith in Jesus Christ her Lord.
