Manetha M. Holle, 88, of Hanover, KS, died November 30, 2025, at the Hanover Hospital surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Friday, December 5, from 4–8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 6, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanham, KS. Pastor Elvin Crosby will officiate. The pallbearers will be Tyler Holle, Dylan Holle, Justin Holle, Jacob Holle, Jake Milligan and Benjamin Pakkala. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lanham.
Manetha was born August 8, 1937, at Odell, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Martha (Adam) Maatsch. On December 14, 1958, she married Robert Holle.
Manetha worked as a school secretary at Hanover High School and later served as Hanover City Clerk before beginning her career with Hanover Insurance, spending over 25 years there before her retirement at age 62.
Manetha kept herself very busy at the family home. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, quilting and crocheting. She also loved working in her garden every summer, and spent hours canning vegetables each year. She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanham helping with various activities, including assisting with the annual turkey dinner and participating in Ladies Aid. She shared her musical talent playing the organ and piano for church services for many years. She was involved in community activities in the Hanover area, participating in the planning and coordination of the annual Pony Express Festival and the Days of ’49 parade. After retirement, she embraced her role as a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, making every effort to support and cheer on her family at their events, showcasing her love and involvement in their lives.
Manetha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Holle, on July 2, 2011; infant son, Daniel Holle; granddaughter, Kelsey Holle; and an infant grandson.
Survivors include her children, Jay Holle (Debbie) of Hanover, Randy Holle (Phyllis) of Hutchinson, Russell Holle (Ruth) of McPherson, and Rhonda Pakkala (Mike) of Lakeville, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren, Ashley Milligan (Jake), Justin Holle, Tyler Holle (Casey), Dr. Jacob Holle (Courtney), Dylan Holle (Dr. Molly), Kirsten Piper (Dr. Joel), Ben Pakkala, Camry Holle, Abbie DiTolla (Alex), Sydney Pakkala, and Courtney Johnson (Rusty); and fourteen great-grandchildren, Piper Milligan, Beckett Milligan, Maddox Holle, Madden Piper, Carmen Piper, Rhett Piper, Whit Piper, Lincoln Holle, Hayes Holle, Cooper Holle, Atlas Holle, Kamryn O’Dell, Kaylyn O’Dell, and Jenna Kossow. She is also survived by her sister, Darlene Holle; brother, Larry Maatsch (Pam); and sisters-in-law, Berdean Holle and Roberta Welch.
