Marion “Mike” M. Hogan, 90, of Marysville, Kansas, passed away November 29, 2025, at Cambridge Place in Marysville.

A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 4, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 5, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Father Quentin Schmitz and Father Jim Shaughnessy will officiate. Musicians will be Rosemary Forst, Paula Landoll-Smith and Wayne Kruse, with selections including “Here I Am, Lord,” “Keep in Mind,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “Daddy’s Hands,” and “How Great Thou Art.”

The pallbearers will be Patrick Hogan, Lucas Lister, Scott Hogan, Scott Berry, Justin Berry and Devin Berry.  The honorary pallbearers are the members of the Marysville Volunteer Fire Department.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mike was born May 18, 1935, in Marysville, the son of James J. and Elizabeth (Rombeck) Hogan.

On December 29, 1958, he was united in marriage to Juanita Ballman at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters.

Mike worked for Scheller Sheet Metal for seven years before beginning a long career with Georgia Pacific north of Blue Rapids. He worked both in the plant and the mine, retiring after 32 years of service. He also worked part time at the Astro Theatre, where he operated the video projector and helped with cleaning. During his retirement, he worked for Temps Disposal. He also spent many summers as a professional painter.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, mowing his yard, and completing woodworking projects.

A devoted member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Mike also served his community through the Marysville Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Assistant Fire Chief, retiring after 35 years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita A. Hogan, on January 2, 2013; his parents; son, Randy Hogan; son-in-law, Roger Seematter; grandson, Derek Whitesell; and siblings, Father Patrick Hogan, Rose Henderson, Francis Hogan, Orville Hogan, and Clarence Hogan.

Survivors include his children, Douglas (Cathy) Hogan of Minneapolis, Kansas, Diane (Rick) Lister of Blue Rapids, Kansas, and Colleen Seematter of Marysville; sister-in-law, Genevieve Hogan of Marysville; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
