Mary A. Yaussi

June 20, 1927 — September 24, 2019

Mary Alice Yaussi, 92, Marysville, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., Friday, September 27 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A funeral service was at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 28 at Evangelical United Church of Christ, Marysville, with Rev. Julie Shields officiating. Organist was Deborah Bruna and the hymns were "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder."  The EUCC Bell Choir played "Joyful Ring." Honorary pallbearers were Eric Yaussi, Nolan Witt, Matthew Yaussi, Shawn Yaussi and Daniel Yaussi. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Mary Alice was born June 20, 1927 to Francis "Floyd" and Edith "Marguerite" (Miller) Anderson at Robinson, KS. In 1945, she graduated from Marysville High School.  On March 13, 1949, she was united in marriage to Chester Yaussi at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. To this union were born five children, Gregg, Steven, Becky, Kevin and Sharon. Mary Alice worked for the Exchange Bank of Schmidt  and Koester, McGraf Manufacturing and over forty years in the Register of Deeds office in the Marshall County Courthouse.  She served as a judge on the Marshall County Election Board for many years. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ Chancel Choir,  Bell Choir and sang with the Community Choir.  Mary Alice enjoyed singing and would sing duets with Chester.  She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events, as she was able.  Mary Alice enjoyed reading, embroidering, crocheting, quilting and traveling.  She liked history and working on the family genealogy.  Life member of Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Chester in 2006; brothers, James “Barton” Anderson, Warren Anderson; sister, Ruth Anderson Minger; daughter-in-law, Deena Yaussi; and son-in-law, Wayne Musil. Survivors include children, Gregg (Jeannette) Yaussi, Cumming, GA, Steven Yaussi, Marysville, Becky Musil, Home, Kevin Yaussi, Manhattan, Sharon (Tom) Martin, St. Peter, MO; sister-in-law, Berniece Lueers; 16 grandchildren, Heather Hank, Shana DeAngelo, Lisa Lorraine, Eric Yaussi, Shawn Yaussi, Samantha Musil, Niki Hlaus, Brenda Smith, Matthew Yaussi, Daniel Yaussi, Kelsey Gabel, Danielle Witt, Nolan Witt, Emily Martin, Brooke Martin and Courtney Martin; 10 great grandchildren, Jordan Hank, Bridger Yaussi, Ethan Yaussi, Jessa Yaussi, Laney Yaussi, Brynn Yaussi, Georgiana Hall-Musil, Elliot Hlaus, Peyton Smith and Isaac Smith.
