Maureen Hendrix

Maureen Hendrix, 72, of Topeka, KS, passed away October 11, 2023, at Stormont Vail in Topeka.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Axtell, KS.  A vigil service was held prior to the funeral at 10:00 a.m.

Burial followed in Saint Bridget Cemetery north of Axtell.

Maureen was born October 19, 1950, to Glen and Mary (Sunnenberg) Keegan.  She attended St. Michael’s Grade School and in 1968, graduated from Axtell High School.  In 1971, Maureen was united in marriage to Jack Hendrix.

Maureen worked as a CNA, for over 40 years, at various nursing care facilities in Topeka.  She enjoyed sitting in her backyard, watching wildlife and tending to her garden.

Preceding her in death was her husband in 2005; and parents.

Survivors include her son, Brad Hendrix; granddaughter, Kaylyn Hendrix; brother, Glen Keegan; and sisters, Paulette Haug and Sheryl Keegan.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell, KS.
