Michael "Bill" O'Toole

Michael "Bill" O'Toole, 69, of Marysville, Kan., died May 1, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Neb. Visitation was Monday, May 6, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Monday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.  Father Nathan Haverland officiated.  Rosemary Forst played the organ while the church choir sang “Here I Am Lord”, “The Lord is My Shepherd”, “Amazing Grace”, “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers were Brad Brown, Cal Brown, Fred O’Toole, Sean Bogart, Frank O’Toole and Vince O’Toole, Jr. The honorary pallbearers were Byron Brown, Mike Brown, Joe O’Toole, Jr., and Vince O’Toole, Sr. Burial was in the church cemetery with graveside Military Honors provided the Marysville and Axtell American Legions. Bill was born on November 17, 1949 at Marysville to Joseph and Margaret (Droegemueller) O’Toole. In 1968, he graduated Marysville High School and served the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Bridge and Building. In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting pool, growing horseradish and socializing with friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing and made annual fishing trips with the Crappie Club in Marysville. Bill was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the American Legion and was a dedicated Honor Guard member. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Hook; and brother, Lawrence O’Toole. Survivors include his wife, Brenda; daughters, Melissa O’Toole and Mandy O’Toole; sisters, Bridgett Davis and Kathleen O’Toole; brothers, Vince (Phyllis) O’Toole, Frank O’Toole, Joe O'Toole, Jr., and Fred O’Toole; and seven grandchildren, Sean Bogart, Katie Grable, Kayden Bogart, Cabett Bogart, Michael Reaves, Brenden Evenson and Kierra Evenson. A memorial fund is established to the Marysville and/or Axtell American Legions. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
