Mike was born October 27, 1954 in Marysville, Kansas, to Edwin and Lorina (Kruse) Leseberg.  He attended Bethlehem Lutheran Grade School near Bremen, KS, and graduated from Marysville High School in 1972.

On October 21, 1978, he married Barb (Goeckel) at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover.

Mike worked for a number of years for Mueller Sand & Gravel.  He worked for over 42 years in the Farmers’ Cooperative System in Hanover and Waterville.  Mike loved his work and serving the local farmers.

He was a member of the Hanover Community Club, Hanover Booster Club, Sons of the American Legion, and the Hanover Fire Department.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served many years on the church council.   He coached his daughter, Megan, and son, Andy’s, softball and baseball teams as they grew up.  He enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball for Bruna Implement Co. and many friendships and memories came from those summers of games and tournaments.  He was an avid Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, and Kansas Jayhawk fan.  His pride and joy was his granddaughter, Cami.  He loved playing cards, especially King’s Corner with her.  Being able to attend her activities and games as she grew up brought him so much joy and gave him a new favorite team, the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers. When Covid took being able to attend her games from him, he felt so blessed to still be able to watch all Neumann games that were live-streamed.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother-in-law, Larry Kruse; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Barb, Hanover; daughter, Megan (Cory) Kumpula, Wahoo, NE; son, Andy, Hanover; granddaughter, Cambria Kumpula, Wahoo; brother, Dan (Phyllis) Leseberg, Odell, NE; sister, Joyce (Jerry) Kracht, Bremen; mother and father in-law, Betty and LaVearn Goeckel, Hanover; brothers-in-law, Mark/Shorty (Sherrill) Goeckel, Hanover and Randy (Beth) Goeckel, Hanover; sisters-in-law, Denise Kruse, Hanover, and Renea Harrison, Salina; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
