Neola F. Wohlbrandt, 87, of Marysville, KS, died May 30, 2023, at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A graveside funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 9, at the Marysville City Cemetery. Father Quentin Schmitz officiated. Neola was born August 26, 1935, in Hunter, KS, to Nelson and Margaretta (LaShell) Bruce. In 1953, she graduated from Beloit High School in Beloit, KS. On February 6, 1966, Neola was united in marriage to Larry Lee Wohlbrandt in Estes Park, CO. To this union, they were blessed with a son and a daughter. Neola was a talented freelance artist. She would paint landscapes and wildlife and attended many art shows at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art. Neola had a love for the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, or just being outside with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death were her parents, Nelson and Margaretta; stepmother, Bernice Bruce; siblings, Howard Bruce, Lois Obert and Carol Brown; and grandchildren, Daniel Lee Wohlbrandt and Emma Lee Wohlbrandt. Survivors include her husband, Larry, Marysville; children, Tammy (Kevin) Moser, Riley, KS, and Rusty (Alice) Wohlbrandt, Marysville; grandchildren, Sara Wohlbrandt, Warner Robins, GA, and Hunter Wohlbrandt, Wakefield, KS; siblings, Nancy Joyner, Warrensburg, MO, Sheila Pfeifer, Hays, KS, and Vicki Kyle, GA. A memorial fund has been established to the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art and to MHS Art Club. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
