Patrice K. Kenderdine

March 17, 1939 — July 26, 2025

Vermillion, KS

Patrice K. Kenderdine, age 86, of Vermillion, KS, passed away on July 26, 2025, at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS.

The family received friends at visitation on Friday, August 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.

A funeral service took place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, also at Padden Funeral Chapel.

A private burial followed at the Vermillion Cemetery.

Patrice was born on March 17, 1939, in Kansas City, MO, the adopted daughter of Archie and Faith (Potter) Watson. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Vermillion, where Patrice grew up and attended school.

After high school and some college, Patrice was married and moved to Pennsylvania. After the birth of her two daughters, she divorced. While in Pennsylvania, she met David Kenderdine. The two quickly fell in love, discovering they shared many values and interests.

On September 19, 1974, Patrice and David were united in marriage in Allentown, PA. They honeymooned in San Francisco, CA, and upon returning to Allentown, began searching for their first home together. After several disappointments, they decided to view one last property—a charming old farmhouse nestled on 12 acres. It turned out to be just what they were looking for. Quiet and secluded, it was a peaceful haven far from the bustle of town life.

While living in Pennsylvania, Patrice was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a faith that became central to her life. Her spiritual dedication and example later led David to embrace the same path, and he too was baptized. Together, they remained faithful and active members of the Marysville Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses after moving back to the family farm in Vermillion in 1999.

Throughout her life, Patrice held various jobs, but she was especially passionate about roles that allowed her to care for others. She worked as an activity aide for adults with developmental disabilities in a group home and later as a home health nurse. Her compassion and dedication to helping others were evident in all she did.

She had a love for antiques and a remarkable eye for finding unique treasures. Patrice also took great joy in tending to her many flowers and houseplants. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating lasting memories with those she loved most. She and David shared many interests, and one of their favorite simple pleasures was going out together to enjoy Chinese food.

Survivors include her husband, David; daughters, Lori Mullen, Wilmington, NC, and Melissa Millenbruch, Allentown, PA; grandson, Chris (Heidi) Mullen, Leavenworth, KS; and three great-grandchildren, Teagan, Brianna, and Dakota.

Padden Funeral Chapel is honored to care for Patrice and her family during this time.
