Pauline Joy Martin

Pauline Joy Martin, 74, of Beattie, KS, died January 10, 2024, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.

Visitation was Tuesday, January 23, from 1-9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, at the Beattie Community Center.  Pastor Janelle Knowles officiated.  Laura O'Neil played the organ while Mandy Cook sang "Amazing Grace" and "Jesus Loves Me."

The pallbearers were Shane Hartner, Bobby Goodwin, Carl Kopp, Dylan Palmer, Jason Smith and Keith Olberding.

A private graveside will be held in the Eudora Cemetery, east of Eudora, KS.

Pauline was born February 19, 1949, to Paul and Ida (Clark) Martin in Lawrence, KS.  She lived in Beattie for many years and since 1992, she worked for Twin Valley at various job sites.  Pauline loved to visit people in the community and making friends with whomever she met.  Everyone knew her for her famous “Youhoo!”

She enjoyed going to the casino, visiting with her brother, fishing, cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and participating in bowling at the Special Olympics.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Paul, Jr.; niece, Nicole Lynn Martin; and the love of her life, Roy.

Survivors include her brother, Frank (Joyce) Martin, Garnett, KS; nephews, Chris and wife, Jen, and daughter, Lilly; and Ryan and wife, Sonya, and sons, Josh and Eli Garnett; guardian family, Mike and Diana Palmer and family; and her Twin Valley family and friends.

A memorial fund has been established to Twin Valley Developmental Services.  Contributions may be sent in the care of Kinsley Mortuary.
