Phil was born on July 3rd, 1963, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Jack L. and Paula E. (Nietfeld) Holle. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1982. On April 13th, 1985, he married the love of his life, Leslie R. (Craven) Holle, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. This year, they joyfully celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Together they raised two children and were blessed with three granddaughters who were the light of Phil’s life.
He worked for many years for the City of Marysville in the Water Department, where his dedication and leadership earned him a promotion to Water Foreman. Later, he was employed by Tyler Martin and Titan Trailer before retiring in 2009 due to health issues. In retirement, Phil found fulfillment assisting Leslie with her home daycare business. Known affectionately as “Papa Phil,” he became a beloved figure to all the children she cared for—each one holding a special place in his heart.
An outdoorsman at heart, Phil loved fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, always ready with a story, a laugh, or a helping hand.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Holle (Craven); son, Nicholas (Devin Jones) Holle; daughter, Kayla Holle; granddaughters, McKenzie Holle, Izabella Holle, and Emberlyn Smith; and Chloe and Isaac Crain, all of Marysville. He is also survived by his sisters, Vicki (the late Terry) Domino of Mansfield, TX; Pam Holle of Marysville; Theresa (Russell) Ogg of Beattie, KS; and Jennifer Holle of Marysville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Paula (Nietfeld) Holle; mother-in-law, Wanda (Lee) Alfers; and dear friends Brian Estes, Mark Wassenberg, and Scott “Squig” Farrant.
Phil will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and steadfast love for his family and friends. His legacy of warmth and generosity lives on in all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund will be established at a later time, and contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
