Ralph F. Broxterman, 85, of Vermillion, KS, died September 20, 2021 at his home. Visitation was Sunday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A rosary service was held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 27 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Anthony Chendumalli, Father Arul Carasala, Father Jim Shaughnessy and Father Gova Showraiah Narisetty officiated. The musicians were Moogie Roeder and Rheta Matson. Music included “On Eagles Wings”, "Seek Ye First”, “Be Not Afraid”, “O Loving God” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers were Lloyd Becker, Stanley Broxterman, Bob Mitchell, Bill Holthaus, Shawn Broxterman, Keith Scott, Travis Broxterman, Terry Broxterman, Brad Broxterman and Jerry Broxterman. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Lillis, KS. Ralph was born on January 21, 1936, at Baileyville, KS, to Andrew and Helena (Buessing) Broxterman. After the 8th grade he began farming with his family until entering the U.S. Army. Ralph served as a mechanic and after his honorable discharge, he returned home to farm. On January 20, 1973, he married Darlene K. Scott at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillis. To this union a son was born, Daniel. Ralph was very active and served on many committees and boards. He loved to work on the farm, cutting wood and cleaning pastures. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sally Broxterman Scott, Leonard “Bud” Broxterman, Robert Broxterman and Thomas Broxterman; brothers-in-law, Edward Becker, Raymond Mitchell and Gilbert Scott. Survivors include his son, Daniel (Suzy) Broxterman, Frankfort; siblings, Elsie Becker, Topeka, Kathleen “Kay” Mitchell, Frankfort, Charles (Rita) Broxterman, Frankfort, Sister Anna Marie Broxterman, Concordia, William “Bill” (Audrey) Broxterman, Vermillion, Richard “Dick” (Sharon) Broxterman, Sabetha, Mary Elaine (Linus) Holthaus, Centralia, and Patrick (Joyce) Broxterman, Baileyville; sisters-in-law, Betty Broxterman, Baileyville, Ann Broxterman, Rossville, KS, and Artis Broxterman, Meriden, KS; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to Annunciation Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
