Rick was born on August 20, 1952, in Omaha, NE, to Delmar and Donna (Singleton) Wilson.  He graduated from Marysville High School in 1970 before pursuing his passion for mechanics at NCK Technical College in Beloit, KS. Following this accomplishment, Rick further honed his skills at Salina Area Technical College in Salina, KS, where he specialized in auto body repair.

On November 1, 1975, Rick was united in marriage to Crystal Nowak at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Blue Rapids, KS.  To this union, they were blessed with two sons.

He farmed his entire life.  He also did custom swathing and baling, along with dirt work.  For nearly four decades, Rick raised hogs and sheep. His love for the farming lifestyle was evident in his frequent visits to farm sales, where he enjoyed immersing himself in the agricultural community.

Rick was a loving family man who treasured spending time with his grandchildren. They were the apple of his eyes and his little monkeys; their laughter brought immense joy to his heart. Rick's love for family extended to his wife Crystal whom he cherished deeply throughout their shared years, and his sons whom he enjoyed farming with.

Rick had several hobbies.  He enjoyed hunting, trapping, working on classic cars and chainsaws . His passion for classic automobiles was particularly notable as he looked forward to attending car shows with his prized possession: a 1971 Boss 351.

He is preceded in death by his father, Delmar Wilson; brother, Delmar Wilson, Jr.; and in-laws, John and Janice Nowak.
