Frankfort

Robert “Bob” J. Kenworthy, 82, of Frankfort, KS, passed away on August 25, 2023, at Midland Care Hospice House in Topeka, KS, after a long courageous battle with cancer.  #Cancer SUCKS

A graveside service was held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Frankfort.  Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated.

Robert was born February 9, 1941, in Westmoreland, KS, to LeRoy and Minnie (Holver) Kenworthy.  He attended Frankfort High and graduated in 1959.  He went on to join the United States Marine Corps.  Several years after returning home from the service, he purchased the Mobile Gas Station from Downer Tyler.  Bob and Jane changed brands several times but stayed there for 37 years.  He welcomed everyone with a smile most days unless he was having difficulty working on a project.  Bob was always willing and offered help to many people in the Frankfort area.  The most important thing to Bob was always the love of family.  Hobbies included family, watching his grandsons play sports, woodworking, feeding his fish and always adoring the love of his life, Jane.  On April 20, 1968, Bob married Jane Seematter at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LeRoy “Junior”, Arthur, Julius, Ralph and Howard Kenworthy; sisters, Norma and Lorna Mae.

Survivors include his only love, Jane Mary Kenworthy; two children, Robert “Bobby” (Aimee) Kenworthy, of Frankfort, and Angie Bramhall, of Topeka; five grandsons, Brett (Emily) Kenworthy, Regan Bramhall, Adam Kenworthy, Conner Bramhall and Rece Kenworthy; two great-grandsons, Ryker and Henry.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.  The family plans to help the special angels at the Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center and Midland Care Hospice House, as they were our saving grace over the years of treatment and especially the last days of his life.  Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort.
