Robert "Bob" J. Stallbaumer, age 78, of Frankfort, Kansas, passed away on January 7, 2026, at the Hanover Hospital, Hanover, Kansas.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort.

A rosary will take place at 7 p.m., Monday, January 12, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, at Annunciation Catholic Church.

The pallbearers will be Daiken Stallbaumer, Braelen Stallbaumer, Rieken Stallbaumer, Lanxden Stallbaumer, Scott Stallbaumer, and Andy Fund.

The honorary pallbearers are Cadlee Stallbaumer, Taeben Stallbaumer, Einslee Stallbaumer, Zaeylee Stallbaumer, Qeasten Stallbaumer, Ayklee Stallbaumer, Maeve Donnelly, Everett Donnelly, McKinley Stallbaumer, Amelia Stallbaumer, and Cohen Stallbaumer.

Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort.

Robert “Bob” Stallbaumer was born on June 19, 1947, in Frankfort, Kansas, the son of Robert and Kathryn (Flaherty) Stallbaumer. He attended school in Frankfort and graduated in 1965. Bob continued his education at Kansas State University, where he earned a degree in AG Journalism in 1969.

Following graduation, Bob moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he began his professional writing career with Farm Journal magazine. A few years later, his career led him to Des Moines, Iowa, where he wrote for Successful Farming magazine.

While at a beach in New Jersey, Bob met his wife, Judith Hendry. The couple were united in marriage on July 13, 1974, in New Jersey. They were blessed with four children.

Bob and Judi made their home in Iowa for nine months before returning to the family farm in Frankfort, where Bob assisted his father with the family fertilizer service. After his retirement in 2003, Bob remained active in the community, serving as a substitute teacher for several area schools.

He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, achieving the rank of Fourth Degree, and greatly enjoyed participating in the organization’s activities and service efforts.

Bob enjoyed reading, traveling the countryside, and observing the fields he so dearly appreciated. He also enjoyed swimming, walking, and completing crossword puzzles. He took great pleasure in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was a loyal supporter of Kansas State University football and basketball, always making time to stop at Call Hall for ice cream when on campus.

Above all else, Bob valued his family. He cherished the time spent with them and held those moments closest to his heart.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and brother, Leo Stallbaumer.

Survivors include his wife, Judi, Frankfort; children, Mark (Heather) Stallbaumer, Hanover, KS, Laura (Patrick) Donnelly, Overland Park, KS, Ben (Kristin) Stallbaumer, Overland Park, and Kate Stallbaumer, Glacier, MT; fifteen grandchildren, Daiken Stallbaumer, Cadlee Stallbaumer, Braelen Stallbaumer, Taeben Stallbaumer, Rieken Stallbaumer, Lanxden Stallbaumer, Einslee Stallbaumer, Zaeylee Stallbaumer, Qeasten Stallbaumer, Ayklee Stallbaumer, Maeve Donnelly, Everett Donnelly, McKinley Stallbaumer, Amelia Stallbaumer, and Cohen Stallbaumer; brothers, James (Sally) Stallbaumer, Rossville, KS, and Donald (Jan) Stallbaumer, Frankfort; sisters, Mary Beth (Dennis) Fund, Wamego, KS, and Jean Ann (JB) Holland, Centralia, KS; and sister-in-law, Connie Stallbaumer, Frankfort.
