Robert "Bob" Jones, 93, Frankfort, died Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 31 at the Frankfort United Methodist Church in Frankfort. Rev. Jim Akins officiated. Musicians were Jody Turnbull and Angie Armstrong. Music included "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace" and "Hymn of Promise." Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren. Burial was in the Frankfort City Cemetery. Bob was born in Bigelow, KS on February 18, 1930, to Owen and Elsie (Anderson) Jones. He graduated from Frankfort High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged in 1954, he returned to the family farm and farmed with his father and brother. His son Barry, later joined him. On October 3, 1954, he married Regina Wiess at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. This union was blessed with four children, Lorrie, Peggy, Bryce and Barry. Bob was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church and the Frankfort American Legion. He was a caring and loving father and grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Regina in 2022; daughter, Peggy Dial; and brother, Don Jones. Survivors include his daughter, Lorrie (Rick) Stenson, Topeka; sons, Bryce (Kim) Jones, Wichita and Barry (Amy) Jones, Frankfort; son-in-law, Gary Dial, O’Fallon, IL; sisters, Betty Samuelson, Manhattan, and Shirley (Duane) Polson, Vermillion; and ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort.
