Sarah was born August 8, 1949, to Everett and Alice (Droegemueller) Throm in Marysville, KS. Growing up, Sarah’s parents tried to send her to school, however she was adamant to find Raymond by going up and down the hall. Eventually they did find a place for her to learn some things, first at the Girl Scout Cabin, where all her siblings taught her the way to and from, and then to a different house for individual learning. She liked to help her mother out by being a babysitter to all her siblings and she gave nicknames to a few of them. For example, Bruce was Bullow and Dale was Baha. At home, Sarah learned to cook, and she would make things like fried eggs or bologna. She would also eat apples and pears right off the tree and sometimes even raw potatoes. As Sarah got older, she would head to the Beattie Workshop for the day and do things like help tear up magazines, books or patterns. Eventually, she went to Twin Valley in Beattie for house living. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Raymond. Sarah is survived by her siblings, Everett “Butch” Throm, Marysville, Dale Throm, North Highlands, CA, Susan Ashley, Marysville, Bruce Throm, Marysville, Sandra Fye, Bremen, Ann Strifler, Bennington, Daryl Throm, Matthews, NC and Marjorie Padgett, Blue Rapids; 14 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to Twin Valley Developmental Services. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
