She attended school in Madison, NE, at Madison High School and graduated in 1961. Sharon then went on to attend school at Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha. There, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated in 1964. Sharon and James “Jim” were united in marriage on November 28, 1964, in Hastings, NE. They lived in Omaha for a period of time, until Jim went into the Air National Guard. During that time, Sharon lived in Hastings until March 1, 1973, when they moved to Marysville. She worked at the Marshall County Health Department until 2004 when she retired. Sharon was a selfless person who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. She was a caregiver at heart, reflected in her many years of nursing and then in her continued nurturing of her grandchildren and especially the great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker, always ready for little visitors with cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or maybe some “homemade” on a hot, summer day. Sharon was an avid reader and loved nothing more than settling in with a stack of good books. She also took special enjoyment in attending her grandkids’ sporting events or listening from afar, as well as following K-State and Nebraska football. She was an active member of the Altar Society at St. Gregory’s. Preceding her in death are her parents; and brothers, Harold Wiebold and Arnold Wiebold. Survivors include her husband, Jim; daughters, Jennifer (David) Wentz, Leawood, KS, Deborah (Steve) Blumer, Marysville, and Rebecca (Rich) Edwards, Union Grove, WI; son, Jeff (Lori) Chaulk, Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Jeff Blumer, Chelsea Haight, Dave Blumer, Molly Smith, Vance Wentz, Joey Wentz, Jack Blumer, Brigid Wentz, Tom Chaulk, Jimmy Chaulk and Tyler Walsh; and great-grandchildren, Ellinor, Jack, Ben, Will and Hazel Haight; Blake, Reid and Hayes Blumer; and Sophia Blumer.
