Stephen "Steve" Banfield

Stephen R. (Steve) Banfield, 70, Barnes, died August 5, 2022 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Memorial services with family and friends, will be held later in Barnes, KS. Steve was born March 31, 1952 in Topeka to Ray Banfield and Mary Turpin. He graduated from Topeka High School. Steve worked for Club House Inn and was a driver at Twin Valley Development Services. He married his second wife, Debra L. Fidler on June 1, 2000 in Topeka. Steve enjoyed reading, painting, traveling and doing embroidery. He had a great laugh and loved his family. Preceding him in death were his parents; and sisters, Dorothy Harvey, Doris Kern and Rita Michaells. Survivors include his wife, Debra Banfield; children, Kathie Banfield, Council Grove, Kristine Shaw, Agra, Jessica McNary, Topeka, Janis Banfield, Meriden and Joshua Banfield, Topeka; seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
