Twyla Jean Boyd, age 92, of Frankfort, KS, passed away on January 28, 2026, at the Frankfort Care Home in Frankfort, KS.

A graveside funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m., on April 25, 2026, at the Beattie Union Cemetery, Beattie, KS.

Twyla was born on January 26, 1934, in Frankfort to Glenn W. and Vera O. (Sunderland) Boyd. She graduated from Beattie High School in 1951, where she played basketball. Twyla had a lifelong love of sports and remained active for many years, playing women’s softball with a local team.

She worked as a clerk and meat packager for twenty-two years for Everett Carleen at Carleen’s Locker Plant in Beattie. She then spent another twenty-two years working for Mr. and Mrs. Jim Swim at Swim’s Pony Express Ranch in Marysville.

Twyla was a lifelong member of the Beattie United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darrell Boyd; and sister-in-law, Ruby Boyd.

Survivors include her niece, Dr. Katherine Boyd of Detroit, Michigan; and two nephews, Bill (Vicky) Boyd and Jim Boyd, both of Las Vegas, New Mexico.
